SEO - Search Engine Optimisation

For years, companies have been trying to scramble to the top of the search engines. All trying different tricks such as putting the letters 'A' before their domain name, hiding keywords in the background. To be completely honest, you don't need to do a great deal to get into the search engines. By following a few simple rules you can make quite a difference. Really think about your campaign. When starting your campaign, think about it like you are starting a new business. For example, Who do I want to aim my product at? How much do I want to budget?

You can setup a free account with Google and start getting visitors within 15 minutes. This is an excellent way to get your product launched and noticed from day one. You do need to bare in mind how much you are willing to spend a day and on how much per click. If you are not able to afford a great deal or have plenty of time, you can invite google to trawl through your site to start getting you into the search engines.

Ensure you have plenty of links to your site from other web sites. Search Engines such as Google like to see you are linking and sharing knowledge, this can help your ranking in the search engines. If you have a community site, link to other people's sites. Get them to link back to you. Tips and tricks:

If you would like to see approximately how many links your website has in Google then visit www.google.com or your countries Google and type the following in the search box. "site: Your domain name" <-- leaving off the parenthesis. E.G. sites: 1stdomains.co.uk
